R&P stands for Rhythm & Praise. Michael doesn’t have any blues for you. This is a ballad artist who is talented in many other areas including the engineering and production of all SFR Artists. This writer/musician/singer combines a love for R&B with contemporary gospel to create R&P. He has a style that anyone can relate to, even you. Born in Los Angeles Ca., Michael was brought up in the church and loved to go … you guessed it… to hear the choir sing. But it was not until his early adult life that Michael realized his true love for the gospel. As a young man Mike embraced many types of music but once he came to know the Lord for himself he made a life changing decision. Music had always played a pivotal roll in his journey’s and now it is his hearts desire to let the world know how good God is through Ministry..

Called by God at birth. Saved at the age of 15, Married at age 16, . Mike is the heart of his immediate family adopting his bother and sisters by age 22 and supporting a family of 5 children with his wife Akilah. God has brought this man through the adversities of marriage, racism, stereotypes, a dysfunctional family , & foster homes . He narrowly escaped the drug and gang infested neighborhoods of Compton and Los Angeles. Though spiritually forsaken by both Father and Mother God ordered his steps Knowing that God has called him to tell some one about Jesus he has committed his life and resources to accomplishing the task that God has set before him

...The Minister

To this point Michael’s journey has been a 10 years in the making. Full of zeal he came to know Christ for himself at “Carver 4 Square Gospel Church” (Compton, Ca.) at age 15, appointed as a deacon and youth minister he served there for 4 years under the direction of Pastor H. Doby .
By age 19 he found himself at “Walk With Jesus Cathedral” (Colton, Ca.) formerly of L.A. It is here that God began to cultivate Michael from a child to a man in the spirit. Under the careful watch of Pastor I. Hailu, he was groomed and prepared for the work that God would call him to do. He served and attended for over 4 years..

By age 23 Michael was serving as Minister of Music for “Bethlehem Temple Community Church” (Rialto, Ca.). From Bishop Michael J Garrett, Michael was taught to think as man should think , walk as a man should walk, and govern himself about Gods business. He served for 2 and 1/2 years

|
Presently Michael is Asst. Pastor at “The Way World Outreach” ( San Bernardino, Ca.). It is here that Pastor Marco Garcia gave Mike the grace to do what God has called him to do. Michael has always had the call of Pastorate upon him. Since his spiritual birthing at age 15 this has been prophesied to him. Pastor Marco, being led of the spirit has taken Mike out of his comfort zone (music) and laid the robe of leadership upon him. It is here that Michael understands Gods purpose for his life…. As stated by prophet Reynolds, Hailu, Abnathey, and many others along his spiritual journey … “You WILL Preach The Word of God!”

The owner of Spirit Filled Records a successful independent label based in the Inland Empire of California (a Division of Praise Sounds Production Company) , Michael’s dream is to see the gospel spread worldwide through Music. Under this label his hope is to promote a full spectrum of gospel artist so that no one is left behind

Now a national Recording Artist Michael’s goal is to give the world an alternative to the “smut” that has infiltrated our daily lifestyles. God has put the music into Michael only to have it come out of him. God has also given him an ear to hear the true work of God in others (www.sfrmusic.com for info on other artists)
“Forever” is Michael’s premier project. God inspired and heart felt. Music has always played a big role in his life ever since he can remember . God took what was meant for evil and used it for good. Michael has been called to establish “ The Spirit Filled Family Church” . This is where Michael will submit to the will of the Everlasting God. Preaching and teaching in season and out of season. To heal the hurt, uplift the spirit, feed the hungry, supply the needs of the communities with the love of Jesus Christ

Michael has been called to establish “ United N’ Christ Alliance” a force of Christian bodies of believers. Who uphold the unadulterated, unaltered word of God. Who will take back what the enemy has stolen by force. This is not a denominational organization. It is a unified front of the body of Christ.
Michael has been called to establish “One Praise Music and Arts Ministries”. Programs designed to maximize the Christian experience through the cultivation and development of musical and artistic skill.
